Behind Create Café are a team of incredible people that achieve great things every day. The driving force behind the company are Shaun and James. They started the business way back in July of 2013 and have taken it from strength to strength.

Shaun, Manager

Shaun Mounsey, manager, has 23 years of experience working in the hospitality industry starting out as a pot washer in a city centre restaurant before working his way through a variety of roles up to bar manager at Harvey Nichols Leeds and restaurant manager for countryside gastro pub before opening Create Cafe. Shaun thoroughly enjoys the challenge of running Create Café and is keen to get involved with local businesses, charities and social schemes. James, Head Chef

James has worked his way from pot wash at a local hotel to sous chef at the award winning Create restaurant in Leeds with 9 years of experience at Harvey Nichols. Much of the homemade food is of James’s making, and his passion for the craft is clear when you  taste his delicious cakes. Working much of his career under Richard Walton-Allen has rubbed off on James with his passion for local seasonal food, picked at its prime and cooked simply to sing on the plate.

“I’ve made food for as long as I can remember, so to be able to build the Café around the freedom of our ideas is amazing. We really hope the terrific people of Wakefield take us to their hearts and use the Café for meeting with friends, networking events or even order food for their event or business. Nothing is too much trouble.”
